Howard Dean on W’s entry into the Blogosphere:
“Mr. President, I’m a blogger. I know blogs. Bloggers are friends of mine. And your site, sir, is not a blog.” (Seems W doesn’t want any comments…)
Jenny Levine on why Web logs facilitate literacy:
“I think student bloggers might get a lot more involved in the write, research, reflect, and revise process than they would if they were just churning out papers on a schedule. Finding someone that links to them or refuting someone else’s post (especially if they have to do some research in order to support their own point) will give them some of the back and forth that I think our classrooms have gotten away from. I think the whole process is more fluid in a blog environment and can happen on a more frequent basis because the form supports bursts of thought, but you don’t want to be embarassed when your classmates see those bursts.”
