Part II of “The Lady Curled Up in Her Pajamas Reading Blogs” saga. Yeah, it’s getting mainstreamed. My mom is now blogging about her dogs. I just read a post from a high school friend cleaning out his closet. Another high school friend is working on call in a Philidelphia hospital…just fixed a bowel obstruction and blogged it. This is all within the last 12 hours.
Here’s something strange though. Playing World of Warcraft last night…I made the big step and started playing with others. 5.5 active users in WoW. 21 million blogs in this world. I work for 3 hours with a guy on a few quests, he mentions the guild he’s in, tells me to leave my email and he’ll get me hooked up. Out of curiosity, I Google the guild name and find that this group is led by Joi Ito (technorati, moveabletype) and has Liz Lawley in it…her blogging about WoW was the reason I took it up. The guy I was playing with happened to be in Toykyo.
Strange, strange world. 10 years from now… “Remember the days when there were only 21 million of us and we kept bumping into eachother? And then they started making billboards about it?”

Why “this cannot be good?” Haven’t you been advocating for the widespread adoption of blogging? Unless AT&T is proposing some sort of walled garden of blogging, bring it on. The more the merrier.
