…5 Days, 12 Hrs, 48 min and 53…er…51…you get the idea seconds as of this writing…that’s when David Warlick‘s keynote goes up on the Conference Blog and let me just say that I just got a sneak preview of David’s talk (I am a psuedo organizer of the conference, ya know) and IT IS FANTASTIC!
But you’ll just have to see for yourselves in 5 Days, 12 Hrs, 45 min and 44…er…41 seconds. Spread the word!

The link you posted to the conference blog is a little bit switched around.

I’m looking forward to it.
I really hate posts like this. They’re all marketing, no content.
Having a ‘countdown’ to the release of an MP3 is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in this space in a long time.
Maybe Warlick recorded a good talk, maybe not. But if you’re going to write about it, tell us what he said, link to the MP3, something.
There’s the sound of a lot of marketing hype coming from a small group of you there, and it’s beginning to distort the conversation.
We don’t need this. It’s hard enough to get the message out there, without it being distorted by the amplification.
Stephen,
All I can figure is you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! Will’s blog, like yours, has the perfect mix of theory and practice, a bit of evangelizing, a tad of shameless self promotion, and sometimes– a bit of marketing for the cause (not for a dollar).
But think about what is being marketed- the work of other educators. As one of four conveners of this conference, I know first hand that none of us are selling anything except for the expertise, experience, and ideas of fellow bloggers.
In fact, we had lots of offers from vendors to present at this online conference and said no thank you.
I heard it echoed many times in our planning meetings– this isn’t about “us” this is about our Keynotes and Presenters.
We haven’t even been given any money to sponsor this free event. It is happening through the free labor and love of a few bloggers who thought it might be a cool way to “get the message out there” through some really creative presentations.
I sure wish you had submitted a presentation. I know it also would have been fantastic.
