Moving Right Along

February 3, 2004 By Will Richardson

In the next couple of days we’re going to start making some of the pieces of Weblogs as Website go live as in linked from the current school homepage. We’re going to start with the Library site and see what happens. If all goes well, we’ll start adding in the music site, the NHS site, the referendum site, etc. I think we’ve got all of the major kinks out of the design and process…now it’s just a matter of people actually updating the pages. The good news is that I know I have five or six who definitely plan to update regularly. That’s a good start for now.

It’s kind of exciting, actually, to see this start to come together. There are times when I really believe this will work as advertised, and that once people get the concept it will continue to grow. For instance, the band parents are clamoring for a site of their own so they can communicate with each other and archive all sorts of pictures and audio files, etc. That would really be a model if I could get them up and running.

Now I know there’s not much blogging going on here. This is using blogs, not writing blogs. But hey, it’s a start. And I just created a slew more student sites for classroom use. Baby steps…

(oh and by the way…here is my favorite new banner.)
