Online Journalism Course/Citizen Journalism

April 15, 2004 By Will Richardson

(Via Dennis Jerz) Even though my teaching days might be over, ideas like these by Mindy McAdams for teaching an online journalism course make me wonder how long I can stay away from the classroom. And if that’s not enough, Phil Wolff’s ideas for citizen journalism are extrememly intruiguing, especially when he talks about a “full blown track in public school starting at age 8.” His full post is definitely worth the read, and it may even be worth a separate post here when I digest it more, but he combines moblogging, campaign coverage, personal video blogging, video syndication, news discovery, blogging, syndication and much, much more. This is Phil at his creative forward-thinking best. After meeting him at BloggerCon I last fall, I’m sorry to see that he won’t be at BloggerCon II this weekend.
