(via the aggregated Jim Flowers) Story in the upcoming edition of Wired that will no doubt push RSS further into the spotlight. Jim says
You want news when it happens without spending your day surfing? You need RSS. And what platform delivers RSS in a friendly fashion? Blogs. And, how can you distribute your information in an efficient way? RSS? and How can you publish quickly and economically and get syndicated? Blog.
Ironic that I just came back across John Robb’s post last year to the Yahoo KM group where in extolling the Web log as e-portfolio concept he says
A portfolio published as a K-Log is automatically syndicated as a newsfeed. This makes it easy for a parent to subscribe to their children’s portfolio withtheir newsreader of choice (like Radio). So, in this case I could get news headlines from the NYTimes along with updates on what my kids have been doing at school. Nice.
Of all of the follow up questions and comments on my workshop Monday, most have been about RSS. I’m telling you, when teachers start to get this, when schools and districts really start to get this…have mercy.
