Kevin Jarrett points to a cool new tool to use with Flickr called Splashr! Outputs your photos by username or tag into any number of different slideshow formats, and then creates a link to the slideshow itself that you can share out or put on your own page. See Kevin’s presentation on Second Life as an example.
Hey Will! Thanks for passing this on.
What I love about this is that it is a NON-LINEAR presentation tool. It uses pics from a Flickr account (export your PPT to .JPG and you’re good to go). Ever need to jump around in a presentation? I did, yesterday. Thanks to Splashr I was able to essentially revamp my talk on the fly, using only the slides I wanted to. Splashr made it look like I meant to do it that way all along. 🙂
Limitations are that ALL slides are visible on screen (in miniature format) and it probably won’t work well with more than 30 slides. But I think it’s still cooler than cool.
Tell Rob I said hello!

Thanks for publishing this. I have already had a go and it is great. I will be sharing this with colleagues and students on Monday.
Splashr looks like a great tool for sharing photos. My math 10 class is working on a photo project and we’re using Flickr to host our photos. Splashr will be a great way to share our photos with each other in class.
This is by far and away the most imaginative and inspired extension of flickr I’ve come across. Thank you!
btw, just posted a new topic in your flickr group
