AssignmentZero | An Experiment in Pro-Am Journalism
- Quote: Welcome. We’re covering a story:
How the Web makes it possible for the crowd to be the source of good
ideas. But instead of one journalist reporting, we’ve created a site
where many people can work on the story, with editors as guides. You are now in the Newsroom, where you can find an overview and learn what others are doing.Note: New site by Jay Rosen that is pushing the bounds of traditional journalism. Can the Dan Gillmor adage “My readers know more than I do” come to life when the readers write the story? I just find this type of thinking hugely interesting. Anyone want to participate?

WriteToMyBlog – Free Web Word Processor for your Blog
- Quote: WriteToMyBlog is a free web based word processor for your Blog. Create Post Entries for your Blog from right here, completely free, no membership required, can Post to multiple Blogs simultaneously, manage your Posts, works with all major Blog programs, and is easy-peasy!
Note: Looks like an interesting option for creating blog entries…especially, as Darren says, for math symbols.

While WriteToMyBlog appears interesting, i object to the Firefox requirement for Mac users. I have made a solid effort to use Firefox as a browser instead of Safari, but I find the user experience less satisfying.

Thanks, Will. We’ll be giving out assignments to individuals, but also to blog authors, who can do them with their readers. You should consider that: weblog-ed takes one on. Cheers.
Thanks for highlighting Assignment Zero. It has opened the door to great discussions with my high school video students on the future of journalism.
