WYSIWYG Editor Issues

August 11, 2002 By Will Richardson

Pat mentions Bryan Bell’s hatred of the WYSIWYG editor, and I can see why. When I add a link to a section in the nav. bar, it erases all the other links. Just a moment ago, it seemed to hiccup and I lost a post. This is crucial to my attempts to make an easy interface for teachers and students. I don’t want them to even see code if they don’t have to. Anyone have any suggestions or similar issues???

Very, very careful use of the WYSIWIG works. Just have to get how it handles returns. Putting an empty space at the end of every line works fine for me. Fact is, though, that an edit button for an “inclMsg” macro will inevitably lead to screw ups. Then they learn how to fix it. It’s good to know a little html anyway, no?
