The REAL radio, that is, as in WHYY in Philadelphia where today on Radio Times the topic was the future of the newspaper industry. So I figure “what the heck, I got something to say about the future of newspapers” and guess what…
Now the best part has to be what the expert guest says after I hung up. (Guess you have to listen to the whole thing, huh?)
Not a podcast, just a link to the MP3.
Too funny…
Will,
Great comment — It was funny to hear that old guy say, “I guess I need to start using RSS.”
Let’s hope that the newspapers do keep things going until the media changes.
WNYC’s On The Media has commented on the doom of current media here. Interesting story — Great show.
I heard you speak at the NYSAIS Conference for Information Managers in the Fall. You were great. Thanks for opening my eyes to blogging — Here’s my (name motivated by Moe) blog
Take care.

Thanks for the clip from the radio. I think I am going to play it to lots of people. I don’t find that I am as articulate as that in explaining why Blogs are really changing journalism and the demise of the newspaper.
One important reason for moving that direction is that the news is so limited. I keep hearing the poll that says that 40% of the people think that the news media is too liberal and 30% think that the news is too conservative. I know that I get so frustrated reading the paper and thinking that I am only hearing the part of the story that the journalist wanted me to know.
I really really like the explanation of reading blogs taking time and that you find certain bloggers that you trust and keep reading and responding to! It is so true! I have just been doing this for a month or so and I have added and deleted from my rss feed several times.
What will keep me (and others) from just building a list of bloggers that I read for my news that just tell me what I want to hear? Will the use of blogs further divide our country into red and blue?
