Got an e-mail from Michael Bazeley who is a parent/webmaster at a California elementary school, and he’s got a request that I’ll post here with his permission:
Being a big fan of the blogging movement, I’ve been scratching my head for some time wondering how blogs could be used by the teachers at our school. I can see how blog tools are useful for secondary school students and teachers. But is there any added value for a second-grade teacher?
Any K-6 teachers want to chime in?
Send him my e-mail address. I think I can help him out.
Pam

It lists some possibilities for teachers in elementary school settings.
I like the site you suggest Anne.
Reflexive analysis for the teacher is the mean reason who explain my blogging experience… For a second grade teacher, begin to work in a large network and have a web space to interact with collegue of around the world is not a little thing to. Share tools, strategies, ideas and weblinks are good; put some words on what is going on all day long is better too. For the students and their parents, you have a lot of writing situation you can experiment, information about homework and projects and the circulation of the information you can create a learning community with each other. We will fix a cyberportfolio with Movable type who is a blogging software. First, we will experiment it with the fifth and sixth grader but will see… Good luck Mr Bazeley !
