So here I am in Liverpool, and I didn’t even realize until this morning that yesterday was National Blog Day in the UK!
‘One Day in History’ is a one off opportunity for you to join in a mass blog for the national record. We want as many people as possible to record a ‘blog’ diary which will be stored by the British Library as a historical record of our national life.
How cool is that? And when do we get our own???
You can borrow ours, Will – we don’t mind !
I think that’s what the OneWebDay event from last month could have been. Unfortunately, the organizers didn’t seem to have a clear focus and the whole thing fizzled.
Gosh! I knew I felt something strange today. Serious, I’m just now reading your book. Great work. I work at an inner city school in Orlando, FL, and I asked a computer lab full of students yesterday (3rd graders) if they knew what a Blog was. Only one knew: “Is that like My Spaces, she asked? I’ve found that administrators think students are technologically proficient if they can do reading/math drills using a computer. That’s like saying the fast food clerk is technologically proficient if he can push the FRIES button on the register. 🙂
I was at the conference this morning, and your presentation was the best one there, very interesting and has certainly got me thinking about making a blog. Your book that was in the welcome page (given out to all people attended) had lots of interecting sections that i look forward to viewing.
Excellent and thought provoking day. Cheers Will. Have all sorts of ideas to use with my students now and just for starters this is my first ever contribution to a blog.
